ANTICIPATED COMPLETION DATE: 3-4 weeks from start date (weather permitting)
CONSTRUCTION HOURS: 8:00am–5:00pm weekdays
PROJECT ACTIVITY: The Clean Water Partnership (CWP) will be conducting functional maintenance work at the above public stormwater management retention pond. A routine Maryland Environmental Service inspection of the pond facility determined the forebay near the intersection of Prince James Way and Lakecrest Drive is experiencing sediment accumulation. Dredging and removal of the accumulated sediment is required to allow the forebay to
continue to function properly. This process will assist in preventing pollutants from traveling into larger bodies of water like the Chesapeake Bay.
The Clean Water Partnership is a 30-year community based partnership between Prince George’s County and Corvias with a turnkey stormwater management program that has proven its ability to achieve regulatory compliance requirements, and create greater community buy-in and education along with long-term local economic benefits for residents and local small minority disadvantaged businesses. The partnership includes a 30-year maintenance agreement, making the CWP responsible for functional maintenance to ensure proper function of the facility; thereafter, the County will assume responsibility.
