Co-op to Host PG County Winery at This Evening's Wine Tasting

Five varieties from Brandywine's Romano Vineyard and Winery will be available for sampling.

This evening, the 's weekly wine tasting (Fridays from 4 to 7 p.m.) will feature five selections from Romano Vineyards, located in Prince George’s County.

Romano Vineyard and Winery, located in Brandywine has been producing wine since 2010 at their location on Bald Eagle School Road in Brandywine. A family affair, daughters Tiffany and Leah work alongside their parents Joseph and Jo-Ann Romano.

Bottles of the five varieties - Chambourcin (medium-body red), Rougeon (sweet), Chardonnay, Liberty (semi-sweet) and Valor (semi-sweet) – will be available for purchase and tasting attendees will receive $1 off each bottle.

The Co-ops Ellen Siegel expects the event to be well-attended. “We generally have a very nice local wine sampling following,” she said. “These wines tend to be on the fruity and sweet side, which appeals to a lot of people, and are filled with fruit and good flavors perfect for summer drinking during the hot weather,” Siegel continued.

The Greenbelt Co-op is located at 121 Centerway Road in Greenbelt.
