"Youth Panel - The Next Generation" and "Defending the EPA & Clean Air Act"
This month's meeting will be in two parts. In support of the upcoming Powershift Conference in April, we will focus on "The Next Generation" of activists. We will host a panel of young speakers from the local public schools, the University of Maryland, as well as CampFire USA and the Greenbelt Girl Scouts (who recently received a grant from the Greenbelt Community Foundation).
The second part of the evening will be a Legislation Update + Brainstorming Session: Defending the EPA & the Clean Air Act. The Clean Air Act is one of the most successful, cost-effective, and popular pieces of environmental legislation ever passed. For over 40 years, the act has protected us from numerous airborne pollutants found to threaten public health and welfare. Right now, big polluters are working to weaken the Clean Air Act to protect their profits and block action on climate change.

Our legislators need to hear from the progressive community! Help us generate ideas to protect the Clean Air Act, and get our Congress back on track to stop climate change.
