Lecture Series on African History & Culture

If Black History Month isn't quite long enough to get your fill of interesting facts about African Americans, not to worry. Several local libraries are hosting a series of black history lectures by historian C.R. Gibbs. The annual lecture series kicks off March 23 and wraps up May 17.

The lectures at Greenbelt Library start at 7 p.m. and include the following topics: "Black Soldiers Who Helped Liberate the Buchenwald Concentration Camp in World War II" (May 3), "Buying Black" (May 10), and "Ancient African Empires (May 17).
