FRANK SINATRA TRIBUTE CONCERT BY THE CHOPER JAZZ PROJECT AT MISHKAN TORAH ON JUNE 26

FEATURING VOVALIST PETER CANNELLA

Mishkan Torah Synagogue in Greenbelt, MD, in conjunction with the Bigshot Records music label is proud to present a special concert entitled “OUR WAY,” celebrating the music of the great Frank Sinatra on the 100th year since the birth of legendary ol’ blues eyes’. This timeless music will be performed by the Choper Jazz Project, a band headed by notable drummer Brian Choper, and will feature the vocals of celebrated Frank Sinatra prodigy Peter Cannella. This gala event will take place on Sunday June 26 at 3:00 PM at Mishkan Torah Synagogue in Greenbelt MD. As a touring band, this may be your only chance to see them locally. You don’t want to miss it!

Mr. Cannella, whose performance Brian describes as “jaw-dropping and memorable,” is now signed exclusively to Bigshot Records. He has sung both classics and originals to packed houses at restaurants, nightclubs, and casinos along the East Coast from New York to Washington, DC. He describes his sound as traditional pop, swing, and jazz, with some of the tenor’s favorite classics including Bobby Darin’s version of “Mack the Knife”, and of course the eponymous Sinatra anthems “My Way” and “New York, NY.” Choper loves it when his band mixes it up by sometimes throwing in a Michael Buble version of a Sinatra tune.

This accomplished vocalist will be supported by the Choper Jazz Project that features Brian Choper on drums, Harry Appelman on keyboard, and Ephraim Wolfolk on bass, all popular acts on their own, plus a horn section. Many know Brian as founder and drummer of the renowned New Klezmer Quintet and the Nexus Rock Band. Mr. Appelman, who teaches at Montgomery College, has appeared around the world with many renowned jazz bands, and was Choper’s first pick to play keys in his band. Mr. Wollfolk is a notable talent who serves on the board of the D.C. Federation of Musicians.
