Free Heart Health Event: Learn About Heart Disease and Receive Free Screenings

According to the American Heart Association, someone dies of heart and blood vessel diseases every 36 seconds. So, it is important to recognize the symptoms:

+ Uncomfortable pressure, squeezing, fullness or pain in the center of your chest

+ Pain or discomfort in one or both arms, back, neck, jaw or stomach

+ Shortness of breath with or without chest discomfort

+ Cold sweats, nausea or lightheadedness

People who experience these symptoms should go to an emergency department immediately.

At a free heart health event, participants will learn how to reduce their risk of heart and blood vessel diseases.  In addition to free carotid artery, cholesterol and blood pressure screenings, experienced medical professionals will provide useful information to help people improve their health and the quality of their lives. They can even learn about Doctors Community Hospital’s new Congestive Heart Failure Clinic.

 

When:        Thursday, February 27

Times:        10 a.m. - 12 p.m. & 1 p.m. - 3 p.m.
