Greenbelt's 11th Annual Green Man Festival Planning Has Begun!

With spring rapidly approaching, community members gather to plan for a celebration weekend of our Chesapeake Bay Watershed!

The 11th annual Greenbelt Green Man Festival is a celebration of historic Greenbelt’s commitment to preserve its acres of forests, bring awareness of nature’s intimate relationship with our lives, and celebrate the creative energies of the community. This year, we will celebrate the waters, the streams and ponds, the lakes and rivers, the bodies of water seen and unseen…that are endangered due to pollutants, excessive runoff due to the loss of permeable soil surface, among a host of other causes.

The Chesapeake Education, Arts and Research Society (CHEARS) is seeking educational lectures/demonstrations (speakers), outreach exhibitors (vendors), and volunteers for our most popular annual festival. We are excited to make this a fun and informative festival around a very critical topic, as water is one of our most precious resources on this earth and helps keep us all alive!

Join us for the next Green Man Festival Event Planning Meeting on Sunday, March 1 at 4 pm in the New Deal Cafe (131 Centerway, Greenbelt, MD 20770).
