JUDGE DAVID NORKEN TO DISCUSS PREGNANCY DISCRIMINATION AT OCTOBER 9 SERVICE

Administrative Law Judge will discuss the recent Supreme Court Case as well as EEOC Guidance and the Impact of the ADA.

Judge David Norken on October 9, 2015 will give a talk about pregnancy discrimination during the Friday night service in lieu of a sermon. David is an Administrative Law Judge with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (“EEOC”), the federal agency which has pregnancy discrimination within its purview. He will talk about the recent Supreme Court case on the subject, the recent EEOC Guidance and the impact of Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act (ADAAA). Even though the Pregnancy Discrimination Act has been law since the 1970’s, pregnancy discrimination is still invidious and widespread, and employers “still don’t get it.” It promises to be an informative evening you will not want to miss. There will no charge and the event is open to the public. Mistaken Torah is located at 10 Ridge Road in Greenbelt.
