Memorial Trees & Memorial Benches Volunteer Needed
Help the City of Greenbelt record its Memorial Trees and Memorial Benches by serving as a GIS Volunteer!

The City of Greenbelt currently lacks a database of its Memorial Trees and Memorial Benches. Volunteers are needed to collect important data (e.g. species, DBH, canopy, plaque inscription, etc.) to complete an interactive map of Greenbelt’s Memorial Trees and Memorial Benches.
This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of GIS and learn a few new skills, like how to measure a tree’s DBH and canopy using a laser!
No experience is required, however tree identification knowledge would be useful. All training and equipment will be provided by the City of Greenbelt Department of Public Works. Individuals and groups are welcome. Gather your family and friends for a day of giving back to the community of Greenbelt on the following dates:

- Wednesday, March 4 from 9 am - 12 pm at Buddy Attick Park
- Sunday, March 8 from 10 am - 1 pm at Schrom Hills Park
- Saturday, March 14 from 10 am - 1 pm at the Community Center
- Saturday, March 21 from 10 am - 1 pm at Springhill Lake Recreation Center
- Wednesday, March 25 from 9 am - 12 pm at Buddy Attick Park
- Wednesday, April 1 from 9 am - 12 pm (location TBA)
- Wednesday, April 8 from 9 am - 12 pm (location TBA)
- Wednesday, April 22 from 9 am - 12 pm (location TBA)
- Sunday, April 26 from 10 am - 4 pm (location TBA - shifts available)
