MISHKAN TORAH TO PRESENT FILM ABOUT HUNGER IN AMERICA ON MAY 31

The Mishkan Torah Social Action Committee is presenting a showing of the film "A Place at the Table" on Sunday, May 31 at 5 pm.

The Mishkan Torah Social Action Committee is presenting a showing of the film’ “A Place at the Table” on Sunday, May 31 at 5 pm. The film covers the disturbing topic of hunger in America in this day and age.

According to the film, fifty million Americans—1 in 4 children—do not know where their next meal is coming from. “ A Place at the Table “ tells the powerful stories of three such Americans, who maintain their dignity even as they struggle just to eat. In a riveting journey that will change forever how you think about the hungry, “ A Place at the Table “ shows how the issue could be solved forever, once the American public decides—as they have in the past—that ending hunger is in the best interests of us all.

A discussion will follow the presentation. The event is free and the entire community is invited. Mishkan Torah is located at 10 Ridge Road in Greenbelt.
