CANCELLED -MISHKAN TORAH TO SPONSOR SPECIAL PROGRAM ON CLIMATE CHANGE ON MAY 3

The Director of DC, MD, and NOVA Interfaith Power and Light will discuss how to lower our carbon footprints.

THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED OUT OF LOVE AND RESPECT FOR THE PASSING OF ONE OF OUR MOST BELOVED MEMBERS. WE WILL RESCHEDULE THE EVENT FOR SOME FUTURE TIME.

The event has been cancelled out of love and respect for the passing of one of our most beloved members.

The Social Action Committee of Mishkan Torah Synagogue will present a special program on alternative energy sources in a time of climate change on Sunday morning, May 3, 2015 at 10:30 am. The featured speaker will be Joelle Novey, the Director of District of Columbia, Maryland, and Northern Virginia Interfaith Power and Light.

Director Novey will entitle her talk “The Jewish Response to Climate Change.” She will provide information of general interest on how all individuals can make a significant difference on the environment by doing things such as lowering carbon footprints. She will speak about joining in community power programs , including Groundswell Energy , which provide a vendor-neutral process to negotiate the best prices for non-carbon based energy such as wind power.

The event is free and open.to the entire community. Everyone is invited to attend and to learn how he and she can make a difference. Mishkan Torah is located at 10 Ridge Road in Greenbelt.
