NotifyMe Prince George’s Offers Severe Weather, Traffic and Emergency Preparedness Updates

Free service sent alerts before June 22 and June 29 severe weather events.

 

The Prince George’s County Office of Homeland Security wants to remind county residents about NotifyMe Prince George’s – a free notification service that will send updates regarding severe weather and traffic, utility interruptions, school and government delays and closings, emergency preparedness and amber alerts to your email, mobile phone or pager.

In just the past two weeks, the NotifyMe Prince George’s system sent an alert prior to the June 22 microburst that hit Bladensburg, Cheverly and Hyattsville areas and notified users 37 minutes before the Friday, June 29 evening storm.
