One Dead, Five Injured When Car Crashes into Trash Truck
Prince George's County Police say a Chevrolet Impala swerved into the path of a trash truck in Beltsville.

One person was killed and five people were injured when a car veered into the path of a trash truck in Beltsville early Monday morning.
The Prince George’s County Police Department said the accident happened near Old Baltimore Pike and Edmonston Road in Beltsville. One adult was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators say the trash truck was southbound on Edmonston Road when the driver of a Chevrolet Impala crossed the line, striking the trash truck head-on.
There were five people riding in the Impala. The car’s driver died, two passengers are in critical condition and two other passengers suffered non-life threatening injuries, police say.

The Berwyn Heights Volunteer Fire Department said two of the passengers were pinned in the wreck, while two other people were thrown from the vehicle.
The driver of the trash truck taken to a local hospital in critical condition, police say.
Roads reopened about 10:30 a.m. between Old Baltimore Pike/Edmonston Road and Powder Mill Road/Edmonston Road, police said.
Authorities have not released the names of any the people involved in the accident.
