Patrol Officer Provides Lifesaving Care to Teen Shot in Chest
Investigators are seeking the public's help to identify a gunman who critically wounded a Prince George's County teen Friday night.

A Prince George’s County Police Department patrol officer is credited with providing critical care to a teenage shooting victim Friday night that kept the victim’s lung from collapsing.
Police say the shooting likely stemmed from an argument about 8:50 p.m. in the 5300 block of Sheriff Road in Fairmount Heights. Officers found the teenage victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest in a parking lot near the intersection of Sheriff Road and Eastern Avenue.
One of the responding patrol officers, Officer Brandon Farley of the District III station in Landover, immediately recognized the victim’s injuries were severe. Farley grabbed his department-issued trauma kit and was able to seal the chest wound. The victim was then rushed to a hospital, where he was last reported in critical but stable condition.
