Police Arrest Fugitive Suspect in 3-Year-Old's Slaying
Prince George's County Police searched for Davon Wallace for a month. He is charged with the shooting death of Knijah Bibb of Washington.

A suspect on the run for a month after being charged with the murder of 3-year-old Knijah Amore Bibb of Washington was arrested Tuesday morning.
Prince George’s County Police arrested Davon Wallace, 25, of Landover, about 7 p.m. on Jasper Road in Southeast Washington, the department said on its Twitter feed.
Investigators believe Wallace argued with a man outside a home in the 7000 block of East Kilmer Street in Landover on Aug. 10. Witnesses say Wallace left the house after the fight, returned with a gun, and fired into the house. When police arrived, they found Knijah inside suffering from a gunshot wound. Knijah later died at the hospital.

Lt. Bill Alexander of the Prince George’s County Police Department told WTOP the child’s death was an act of “senseless violence.”
“The young girl we do not believe was in any way an intended target. This is obviously horrific, collateral violence,” Alexander says.

Earlier this month, the Maryland United States Attorney’s Office charged Wallace with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution, and the FBI joined the search for him. Authorities believed Wallace fled Prince George’s County and was hiding near Washington D.C.; Richmond, VA; or in the Winston-Salem, NC area.
The FBI offered a reward of up to $20,000 for information leading to Wallace’s arrest; and the Prince George’s County Police Department offered up to a $25,000 reward in the case.
