Police to Canvass Shooting Area Thursday Night
A Bowie man was shot and killed early Thursday in what Prince George's County Police say was a drug-related attack.
Detectives from the Prince George’s County Police Department will conduct a second canvass Thursday night in connection with a murder earlier in the day in Bowie.
Police say Amir Ali Jr., 39, of the 9900 block of Chessington Way in Bowie, was shot and killed in his home. Officers were called to the house about 5:45 a.m. for the report of a shooting. They found Ali suffering from a gunshot wound; he was pronounced dead on the scene.
On Twitter the department said: “Our detectives don’t believe this morning’s murder on Chessington Way was random. This appears to be drug-related.”

Detectives are looking for at least two suspects in this case.
Authorities will return to the 9900 block of Chessington Way early this evening. The time will be tweeted via @PGPDNews before the canvass.
