Police: Victim Hit by Bus Identified

Prince George’s County Police have identified the victim in a fatal pedestrian accident Thursday.

Patsy Stokes Burton, 69, of Nelson Drive in La Plata was struck by a bus Thursday morning according to police. Officers arrived at the intersection of Main and Water Street around 10:35 a.m. Burton was pronounced dead on scene.

Investigators believe Burton was in the crosswalk, trying to cross Main Street, when she was struck by the bus. The bus driver remained at the scene.
