Police to Visit Neighborhood in Hunt for Sexual Assault Suspect

Prince George's County Police will hand out fliers in a community to try to identify the suspect in a sexual assault.

Prince George’s County Police detectives will distribute fliers in a Mitchellville community Wednesday seeking information about a recent sexual assault.

The flier includes a sketch of the suspect. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered in the case.

Police say a man sexually assaulted a woman in the 11000 block of Lake Arbor Way about 5:40 a.m. on April 29. The suspect reportedly approached the 19-year-old victim as she was walking, implied he had a gun, and forced her into a nearby field, where he sexually assaulted her.

The suspect is described as a black man, 20-30 years old, about 5’6” – 5’7”, with a thin to average build and freckles. He wore a black-hooded jacket and a nylon skull cap at the time of the assault.

Detectives will canvass the area beginning at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the intersection of Lake Arbor Way and Winged Foot Drive.
