Prince George's County Residents Sound Off on Snowplowing

BOWIE, MD—As of 8 a.m. Sunday the blizzard warning for Maryland has been lifted. Over the weekend, Winter Storm Jonas brought over two feet of snow to towns across Prince George’s County.
No travel ban was issued for Prince George’s County throughout the storm, but Governor Larry Hogan is still urging residents to stay off the roads while crews get to work.

We asked Patch readers in Prince George’s County how they felt about the plowing done on their block. Here’s what they said:
- “That I can tell by looking at the street no plowing of snow has been done in the Marleigh Community of Bowie. I’ll wait to be unhappy tomorrow if getting to where I want to be is a problem.”
- “Plow got stuck on Melfa late this morning. He backed out and no one has been back.”
- “They have made a pass down the street, but we are only one lane wide .... but part of the problem is that some people are parked on the street. 7th St. Old Bowie”
- “Sedgwick was done sometime between 9 and 11 and looks great. I see black. So good that dumb people decided to start driving around instead of staying off the roads. Where are you going? Nothing is open.”
- “Yesterday and last night I could see them madly plowing the Town Center Mall, so stores will be open soon even if you can’t get there.”
- “Nope. But I know they are doing their best.”
- “So far so good. Just need one more pass by Stable museum and we are all good here.”
- “Need plowing on Hillmeade road to Hillmeade Station Drive please. Saw a truck late Saturday but none today.”
- “No plow back here since Friday abt 10pm on Morningside ln and behind the town homes nothing too”
- “Kings Forest, South Bowie street was plowed once was able to get out just fine in a CRV.”
- “Excellent job done. Seeing blacktop. “S” section.”
- “Beaverdale Lane is good.”
