Prince George's Schools Make Thursday Decision

School officials make weather decision for Thursday, March 5. Also, transit officials warn service will be slow and on major roads only.

With some forecasts calling for up to 8 inches of snow to fall in the area, public schools and school offices in Prince George’s County will be closed on Thursday, March 5, school officials announced.

Thursday, March 5, 2015 - Code Red – Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS) is closed for students and all personnel. (Código Rojo – El sistema escolar permanece cerrado para todos.)

Transit service on the Prince George’s County TheBus will only be provided on major arterials and collector roadways Thursday because of the forecast for heavy snow. As conditions permit, TheBus routes will serve residential streets where safe access and egress allow.

Roadway conditions will be evaluated and monitored throughout the day, transit officials said, and frequent NextBus system alerts and service status updates will be provided for all TheBus routes.
