Recruiting Zero Waste Volunteers

Be a part of the efforts to promote recycling, composting, and reusable water bottles at the 2016 Greenbelt Labor Day Festival!

Be a part of the zero-waste efforts by promoting recycling, composting and reusable water

bottles at the 2016 Greenbelt Labor Day Festival in the Roosevelt Center.


Make a positive impact on the community and the environment by informing festival-goers about zero-waste efforts. High school students will be awarded service-learning hours for training and hours served during the festival. Hourly volunteer shifts are available.

Meet at the Public Works booth during these times:
  • Friday, September 2 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Saturday, September 3 from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Sunday, September 4 from noon to 8 p.m.

For volunteers to be effective, they should attend one of the training sessions to be held on Thursday, August 25 and Monday, August 29 from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Department of Public Works building, 555 Crescent Road (beyond the parking lot at Buddy Attick Park).
