Teacher Charged with Sexual Abuse of Elementary Student
The 9-year-old's mother reported the teacher at William Paca Elementary School had inappropriately touched her son.

A Prince George’s County teacher has been charged with sexually abusing a 9-year-old boy in a Landover school classroom, police say.
The Prince George’s County Police Department on Tuesday arrested Erwin Magnaye, 39, of the 3100 block of Burning Springs Road in Laurel. He is charged with sex abuse of a minor, second-degree assault, and several sex offenses.

Magnaye is a teacher at William Paca Elementary School in Landover.
Authorities say the 9-year-old victim’s mother contacted them in February to report that Magnaye kissed the boy in a classroom and had also inappropriately touched him several times beginning in September of 2014.

Magnaye is in the custody of the Department of Corrections.
