Volunteers Help Grow the CHEARS Three Sisters Demonstration Gardens
Greenbelters and students from UMD and MLK, Jr. Middle School gathered on Saturday, April 11 to prepare the community gardens for spring.
On Saturday, April 11 volunteers gathered to prepare the Chesapeake Education, Arts & Research Society (CHEARS) Three Sisters Demonstration Gardens for spring in Greenbelt, MD.
Volunteer tasks included weeding the garden beds, transplanting cold-weather seedlings, starting warm-weather seeds, managing the compost piles, and picking up litter. All of these tasks could not have been accomplished without the time and efforts that volunteers contributed. CHEARS thanks all of the volunteers who helped make this garden workday such a success!
Be sure to find more pictures of the volunteer event on Facebook.
