17 New Businesses Opened in Havre de Grace This Year, City Officials Say
Economic development officials celebrated new businesses in Havre de Grace recently.

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — City officials recently recognized 17 businesses for choosing to open in Havre de Grace in the past year. The recognition came during Maryland's Economic Development Week and gave officials time to reflect on the changing business landscape of the city.
It was a "whirlwind year," Havre de Grace Grants & Economic Development Coordinator Erika Quesenbery Sturgill told Patch. She said more than a dozen businesses opened, while some closures were "bittersweet."
These 17 new businesses were recognized last week for opening between September 2015 and Sept. 19, 2016, according to Sturgill:

- Green Farm Produce; 909 Ontario Street
- Edward Jones Investments; 1039-A Pulaski Hwy
- Norkris Services LLC; 400 Lewis Street
- Proud & Positive Treatment Services; 603 Revolution Street
- Winners' Choice Healthcare Services; 400 Lewis Street
- Ice Cold Water Ice; 811 Revolution Street
- Sweet Eats Cakes; 311 St. John Street
- Backfin Blues Creole de Graw; 400 North Union Avenue (not open yet, has use and occupancy permit)
- Havre de Grace Dental; 363 Green Street (new dentist took over the practice)
- McLhinney's Speakeasy Museum & International Market; 212 North Washington Street
- Chris Barbershop; 361 Congress Avenue
- Vintage Cafe; 114 North Washington Street
- Edel's Bridal Boutique; 315 St. John Street
- Danielle Bellezza, Licensed Acupuncturist; 225 St. John Street
- Aleo & Co.; 452 Franklin Street
- Caliber Collision Centers; 1715 Pulaski Highway
- WHGM Smash Hits at 1605 Level Road (expansion with two new signals achieved through FCC)
The city celebrated these businesses with visits and perks such as a happy hour throughout the week.
Sturgill and Cathy Vincenti of the Havre de Grace Chamber of Commerce presented the business owners with special certificates of recognition.

"It was an honor and a privilege to recognize our new businesses, and those celebrating significant milestones, with a certificate of appreciation for choosing Havre de Grace for their small business," Sturgill said.
According to Sturgill, these businesses were celebrating milestones:
- Karen's Natural Market, open for 20 years; 110 N. Washington Street
- Chesapeake Rent All, open for 50 years; 1317 Old Post Road
- Mary L. Martin Postcards, open for 50 years; 230 N. Washington Street
