2 Havre de Grace Businesses Make Best Wedding Cake: Wedding Wire

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — Wedding Wire released its annual Couple’s Choice Awards, and two Havre de Grace establishments made the cut when it came to the best wedding cake: Desserts by Rita and Sweet Eats Cake.

Wedding Wire determines the Couple’s Choice Awards based on customer-submitted reviews. Businesses were notified this week that they were winners. There were 23 in the Baltimore metro area, and that included two in Havre de Grace.

Desserts by Rita on Pulaski Highway/US 40 received a ranking of 4.8 out of 5 stars.

"Not only was it beautiful, our guests are still talking about it. They loved it! We loved it! The cake is so moist and tastes absolutely amazing," one reviewer wrote of the Desserts by Rita wedding cake.

Sweet Eats Cakes on Saint John Street received 5 stars, and like with Desserts by Rita, reviewers brought up the compliments that came from their guests. They also honed in on creativity in their wedding day creations.

"We had gone through 5 bakers who all told me my vision for a wedding cake was impossible!" one bride wrote. "I wanted a 3 tiered cake, on top of a waterfall held by a styrofoam base and we couldn't have been happier...We received so many compliments on how unique our cake was."
