2 People Rescued from Susquehanna River on Memorial Day
Water rescue teams responded for a report of a missing kayaker near the Conowingo Dam, officials said.
Two people were rescued south of the Conowingo Dam on Memorial Day, officials said.
Crews were originally called for a kayaker reported missing in the water, Harford County officials said at approximately 12:15 p.m. on Monday.
The Susquehanna Hose Company, Level Volunteer Fire Company, Darlington Volunteer Fire Company and Harford County Technical Rescue Team responded, according to Rich Gardiner, spokesman for the Harford County Volunteer Fire & EMS Association.
Water Witch Fire Company in Port Deposit reported that it sent two rescue boats to assist as well.
By 1:30 p.m., two people had been located and were being taken to Lapidum Landing at Susquehanna State Park for evaluation, according to Gardiner.
The pair rescued from the Susquehanna River had non-life-threatening injuries, according to the report.
