School Assault, DUI Crash, Phone Thefts: HdG Crime

Sibling dispute leads to assault charges and more crimes were reported recently to Havre de Grace police.

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — The Havre de Grace Police Department provided the following information about recent incidents. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

Two phones were taken from a display in the 900 block of Pulaski Highway. The theft occurred just before 3 p.m. on March 20 during a moment when the clerk was distracted. There were two suspects who allegedly took the phones and headed for the alley.

An assault occurred in the 700 block of Congress Avenue. Nobody was injured, and school officials handled the case. The assault was reported at 10:24 a.m. on March 20.

A 1998 Honda Accord that had been reported stolen was recovered in the 700 block of North Stokes Street at 8:54 a.m. on March 20.

A 38-year-old Havre de Grace man was charged with DUI on St. Patrick's Day. The driver, who lives in the 2100 block of Pulaski Highway, was involved in a minor crash in the 1300 block of Ontario Street at approximately 11 p.m. on March 17. He was charged and released.

A cell phone theft was reported, allegedly involving an ex-girlfriend. The theft occurred in the 500 block of Lewis Street and was reported at approximately 6:45 p.m. on March 17.

An iPhone was taken in the 400 block of Old Bay Lane, allegedly by an ex-girlfriend. The theft of the item, valued at $100, was referred to the commissioner at 4:24 p.m. on March 13.

An assault in the 1300 block of Lewis Lane was referred to juvenile services at 11:34 a.m. on March 13.

A 23-year-old man from the 900 block of Quarry Road was served with a criminal summons at 3 p.m. on March 12 in the 500 block of North Stokes Street. He was charged with second-degree burglary and theft scheme between $1,000 and $10,000, stemming from incidents between Feb. 24 and Dec. 31, 2016.

An assault on South Juniata Street at Congress Avenue at 3:24 p.m. on March 10 was referred to juvenile services.

A 67-year-old brother and his 47-year-old sister had an argument in the 400 block of North Stokes Street at 7:20 a.m. on March 10. Both were charged with second-degree assault.
