The rumors about the store became reality in November when the store would be coming. There was upon the announcement—with some supporting a convenience store downtown, and others worried that the chain store would disrupt the quaint, mom-and-pop feel of the downtown arts and entertainment district.

The store was with the historic downtown area.

Due to its proximity to the , the store will not have gas tanks.

The store will be the second 7-Eleven in Havre de Grace. , with gas pumps, is located near U.S. Route 40.
