Nominated for 14 Tony Awards and winner of three (including Best Musical for the 2004-2005 season), Monty Python’s Spamalot is now playing at the Havre de Grace Opera House, courtesy of the Tidewater Players. If you, like me, grew up in the heyday of Monty Python, you will recognize old favorites like a killer rabbit, the Knights who say “Ni,” and the classic tune “Always Look on the Bright Side of Life.” All this and more is mashed up into a tale of King Arthur recruiting knights for his epic round table and the quest for the Holy Grail.
The show is directed by Laurie Starkey with musical director R. Christopher Rose and choreographer Dickie Mahoney. There are three shows every weekend through May 18, Friday and Saturday nights at 8:00 pm and Sundays at 3:00 pm. Tickets are $18.50 each and are available at the Tidewater Players’ website. The Opera House is located at 121 N. Union Avenue, Havre de Grace. Get your seats now before they sell out!
