Aberdeen Police: Fuel Spill Causes Backups Near APG

Police said a lane closure on Route 22 was restricting the flow of traffic.

A fuel spill in Aberdeen caused backups near Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG) on Tuesday morning, police said.

At 7:46 a.m. on Tuesday, the Aberdeen Police Department advised there was a fuel spill under 100 gallons in the area of MD Route 22 at Post Road.

As a result, the right lane of Route 22 was closed between Post Road and the gate to APG, police said.

The closure caused delays in the area during the morning rush hour, according to the Aberdeen Police Department.

After 8:30 a.m., police said that traffic was backed up past Mount Royal Avenue and travelers should use alternate routes.
