Acer Readies HdG Headquarters

The business provided an update on its move to Havre de Grace.

Acer Exhibits and Events, an agency that builds custom exhibits, has been preparing for its move from Belcamp to Havre de Grace. On Wednesday, it showed off the interior of the building it purchased on Clark Road.

Acer purchased the 167,270-square-foot building at 1601 Clark Road in October from Becker Properties for $3 million, according to the Baltimore Business Journal.

Its previous location encompassed 100,000 square feet on Mercedes Drive in Belcamp, the company said.
Acer needed to expand its laser manufacturing operation, workshop, office space and storage capacity, I95 Business magazine reported. In addition, the building sits on a 25-acre campus that will allow Acer to expand as needed.

The larger facility will "meet the needs for Acer and our clients for years to come," Mark Crane, CEO and co-founder of Acer Exhibits, said in a prepared statement.

The company produces exhibits for conference centers and museums so it's only fitting that it would reinvent the Havre de Grace space to suit its vision.

"The long vacant building ... will need a major makeover..." Crane said after Acer purchased the property.

The building on Clark Road was originally constructed in 1970 and renovated in 1997, according to CoStar.

Updates are moving along smoothly, and the relocation is expected to happen soon, the company reported this week.

"We are getting closer to moving into our newly renovated headquarters in Havre de Grace...!" the company reported Wednesday, sharing a photo of the facility on Facebook.

Acer is expected to move into its new facility in the second quarter of 2014.
