Ahoy, Mateys! Pirate Fest Weekend Is a Few Short Weeks Away
Join your fellow pirates from near and far for the annual Pirate Fest Weekend June 10, 11 and 12 for a swashbuckling good time.
Ahoy, ye swashbucklers and mates—come and get lost at “Pirate Fest,” being held at the Susquehanna Museum at the Lock House the weekend of June 10–12!
The festival kicks off Friday evening, June 10, with the Pirate Pub Crawl, an event guaranteed to bring out the “ARGHHHH” in you! Starting at 7 p.m., pirate crawlers go pubbing their way through historic Havre de Grace. Participating establishments include Coakley’s Pub, Laurrapin Grille, MacGregor’s Restaurant, Rodgers House Tavern, Tidewater Grille, VFW, and the American Legion. All will be offering exclusive specials to those pirate pubbers! Registration fee for this event is $15 per person.
Saturday morning (June 11) the festival continues with our Annual Pirate 5K Run, starting at 8 a.m. on the grounds of the museum. Runners and energetic pirates will meet on the shore of the Susquehanna River and run along the picturesque Lafayette Trail. Awards will be given to top male and female runners in several age categories. T-shirts (these are collectibles, mates!) will be given to the first 200 registrants and walk-up registration will also be available. Registration is $25.

The fun continues at the Lock House as our very own Pirate Encampment comes alive, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both Saturday (June 11) and Sunday (June 12). Be prepared to hear the cannon fire, watch the skirmishes and duels, and learn all about the “pyrat” ways! In addition to the encampment, family friendly activities will be going on throughout the day, including live music by “Scales and Crosstones,” children’s costume contests, pirate tales, games and more! Visitors will also want to make sure that they take time to tour the Susquehanna Museum, which will be open throughout the day and to check out all of the vendors participating in this year’s encampment. Suggested admission to the encampment is $3 and children under 12 are free.
Saturday evening, adults are invited to party with the Pirates at our first ever Buccaneer Bash! This party of the summer, catered by Harford Caterers, will be held under a tent on the Lock House grounds with music by “Big Wahu Caribbean Band”. Games of chance, trivia, and more will be going on throughout the night with prizes for the winners! While not necessary, party goers are encouraged to dress in pirate attire. The Bash will be held from 7-11 p.m. and tickets are available for $50.
