Airplane Takes Wrong Turn at Harford Airport, Injuring One

The plane had minor mishap Friday at the airport near Aldino.

A small plane took a wrong turn at the Harford County Airport, injuring one person, according to officials.

“The plane was on its taxi and somehow flipped over,” Rich Gardiner, spokesman for the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association, told Patch.

No fuel spilled, no fire was involved and no rescue was required, Gardiner said.

The Level Volunteer Fire Company took a 70-year-old man by ambulance to a regional trauma center for injuries that were not life-threatening, according to Jennifer Chenworth, spokeswoman for the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association.

The incident reportedly occurred before 2 p.m. Friday in the 3500 block of Aldino Road in Churchville.

The tiny airport off Aldino Road is home to 52 aircrafts and averages 48 flights a day, according to Flight Aware. Most of its traffic comes from single-engine planes.
