HARFORD COUNTY, MD — A Maryland man has been arrested in connection to a sexual assault investigation spanning two states.
The Upper Chichester Police Department in Pennsylvania has been working with the Harford County Sheriff's Office in the investigation, which has identified victims in both states.
On April 19, Upper Chichester police officers were alerted to the sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl. They determined that the teenager had been involved in an illegal sexual relationship with 28-year-old Jonathan Andrew Myers of Forest Hill. The investigation into Myers led police to contact the Harford County Sheriff's Office, which identified another victim in Maryland, according to the police department.
Myers was arrested in Harford County where he's being held, pending extradition to Pennsylvania, authorities stated. He currently faces charges in Upper Chichester of statutory sexual assault of a subject 11 years or older, indecent assault of a person 16 or younger, unlawful contact-sexual offence with a minor, corruption of minors and criminal use of communications.
Investigators believe there may be additional victims. Anyone who believes they may have been a victim is encouraged to contact the Harford County Sheriff's Office at 410-838-6600.
