NORTH EAST, Md: Cecil College's Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program celebrated the Class of 2026 with a Pinning Ceremony on Thursday, July 23, in the Technology Center on the North East Campus. The ceremony honoredseven students who have completed rigorous coursework and clinical training.
""This summer, our LPN nursing students demonstrated exceptional dedication, resilience, and determination. They balanced rigorous coursework, hands-on clinical experiences, and countless hours of studying while developing the knowledge, skills, and compassion essential to providing outstanding patient care. Through their perseverance, commitment to excellence, and support for one another, they have reached an important milestone and are well prepared for the next step in their nursing careers. We are incredibly proud of their accomplishments and look forward to the positive impact they will make in the lives of their future patients and the communities they serve," said Assistant Professor of Nursing Justin Porter, MSN, RN, the Coordinator for the LPN Program at Cecil College.
LPN certificate graduates are healthcare professionals responsible for primary patient care and comfort. LPNs are essential to the patient experience and work closely with RNs and physicians. They monitor a patient's status, manage basic care, and keep up-to-date medical records, according to the American Nurses Association (ANA).

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects the demand for LPNs will grow five (5) percent through 2032, much faster than the average for all occupations, with the annual mean wage in the State of Maryland being $59,730.
