K-9 Signals Drugs In Vehicle During Traffic Stop In Aberdeen: Police

ABERDEEN, MD — A K-9 alerted Aberdeen police officers to drugs in a vehicle Wednesday night during a traffic stop.

Officers stopped a vehicle around 7:47 p.m. near Route 22 and Old Post Road. During the traffic stop, the officer requested the Harford County Sheriff's Office K-9 unit to assist.

The K-9 signaled a positive alert for drugs, so officers searched the vehicle and found approximately six ounces of suspected crystal methamphetamine, suspected cocaine, drug distribution paraphernalia, a loaded handgun and more than $2,500 in cash, according to Aberdeen Police.

The driver, Dustin Beresh, 46, of Heather Way in Havre de Grace, was taken into custody without incident. Investigators also determined that Beresh was prohibited from possessing firearms.

Beresh was taken to the Harford County Detention Center, where he initially was held without bail. He has been charged with numerous firearms and controlled dangerous substance offenses.
