Bingo Night To Benefit Pets At Harford Co. Animal Shelter

The Harford County Humane Society will be hosting its wildly popular Cash Bingo Bonanza, which raises funds to care for the animals there.

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — A night of games, prizes and good times await those who attend a bingo night event next month that benefits the pets who find themselves at the Humane Society of Harford County.

Sponsored by the HSHC, along with Joan Ryder and Associates Real Estate, Cash Bingo Bonanza aims to raise funds to help care for the estimated 3,000 animals that find themselves at the shelter every year.

"Our bingo fundraiser is extremely popular and tickets sell out in advance every year. But it's more than just a fun night out — it's a chance for our community to come together and directly support the thousands of animals who rely on us each year. Every game played helps provide food, medical care and shelter for homeless animals waiting for a second chance," Erin Long, spokesperson with the HSHC, told Patch.

The event will be held Aug. 28 at Level Volunteer Fire Hall, located at 3633 Level Village Road, in Havre de Grace. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the bingo fun begins at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $20 in advance and include a packet for 14 bingo games plus opportunities to win door prizes throughout the evening. Advance tickets can be purchased at harfordshelter.org/bingo, by visiting the shelter at 2208 Connolly Road in Fallston, or by calling Erin Long at 410-836-1090, ext. 106.

Players can try their luck at several special games featuring larger cash payouts, including a final winner takes all jackpot. Attendees also can try their luck in a raffle featuring more than a dozen themed gift baskets.

Guests are encouraged to bring donations from HSHC's wish list, such as dog or cat food, treats, toys or other pet supplies. Each donated item earns one free raffle ticket, giving attendees even more chances to win while directly helping shelter animals.

Volunteers in the kitchen will offer light dinner fare, snacks, baked goods and beverages for purchase throughout the evening. Monetary donations to the HSHC will be accepted that evening and all contributions are tax-deductible.

Net proceeds will support HSHC's programs including veterinary care, foster care, rescue transports, spay/neuter surgeries and other essential services.
