HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — While a local artist's memory lives on through his murals around town, friends have set up a GoFundMe to help support his two sons.
Ezra Berger's murals were well known and his paintings were snatched up by many. He passed away unexpectedly recently, startling those who knew him and appreciated his talents.
"He was an incredibly gifted artist, a kind soul and someone who quietly touched so many lives with his creativity, generosity and heart. As many know, Ezra wasn't someone who sought attention. He let his art speak for him," according to Malgorzata Baker, who created the GoFundMe for his sons , Darwin and River, and for a memorial in Berger's honor.
Bloomies Havre de Grace has turned its pink cash box at its flower stand into a collection point for donations, checks, cards and personal notes for the boys through August. They'll be set up at 711 Alliance Street, across from Havre de Grace Elementary School.
"If Ezra's art, friendship, kindness or spirit ever touched your life, please consider donating or sharing this fundraiser. No amount is too small, and every act of kindness is deeply appreciated," Baker wrote.
