EDGEWOOD, MD — Detectives are investigating a non-fatal shooting that happened Sunday night in Edgewood.
Around 8:30 p.m., sheriff's deputies were called to the 700 block of Court Square Drive in Edgewood for a report of a shooting Sunday. They found a 19-year-old man with a gunshot wound that wasn't considered life-threatening, according to the sheriff's office.
Deputies administered first aid until EMTs arrived and then the victim was taken to a Baltimore area trauma center for treatment.
The initial investigation indicates the shooting happened in the 1700 block of Hanson Road. Detectives have canvassed the area around the shooting to find witnesses and collect information. They are working to identify potential suspects and determine a motive, the sheriff's office stated.
