HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — A new partnership between Kent Meadows Farm and the Harford County Food Bank means residents will have steady access to fresh produce during the growing season.
The nonprofit venture, called the Harford County Food Bank Farm, aims to expand access to nutritious food for Harford County residents experiencing food insecurity.
More than 30,000 Harford County residents experience food insecurity, highlighting the need for greater access to fresh, nutritious food, leaders said.

Several fields at Kent Meadows Farm have now been dedicated to harvesting for The Harford County Food Bank Farm, increasing production and access for local families in need.
Kent Meadows Farm, located at 4100 Webster Lapidum Road, is helping support the Food Bank Farm's mission to grow fresh produce and strengthen the local food supply by making healthy food accessible to everyone. The farm will supply the Harford County Food Bank and local food pantries with its first and best produce.
There are 14 acres total at the farm with three acres dedicated to growing produce. Half of that has been set aside for the food bank, Kent Meadows Farm owners Nick and Amy Miller told Patch.
They'll be growing several types of tomatoes, cucumbers, yellow squash, zucchini, a variety of peppers, eggplant, watermelon, blackberries and more, the Millers told Patch.
The farm also raises lettuce, green beans, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, cantaloupes, pumpkins, sunflowers, orange and yellow watermelon for its customers, along with pork, poultry and starting in February, beef, the Millers said.
"Kent Meadows Farm has always been about the land and the community around it," the Millers told Patch. "We believe that everyone deserves access to high-quality, nutritious food. We're proud to partner with the Harford County Food Bank and can't wait to see our first harvest go to neighbors who need it."
In 2025, Kent Meadows Farm delivered 10,824 pounds of fresh
produce to Harford County food pantries. The partnership makes their dedication to supporting the community even more streamlined.
"This partnership allows us to bring fresh, locally grown food directly to the families who need it," said Pamela Craig, CEO of the Harford Community Action Agency. "By connecting local
agriculture with our hunger-relief network, we can help make nutritious produce a more consistent part of the food assistance available throughout Harford County."
The farm ground will be tended to by Kent Meadows Farm team members and volunteers, the Millers told Patch. They added that they're quite excited to partner with the food bank and help have an impact on the community.
"This partnership is a dream come true. The Food Bank Farm merges our strengths: Kent Meadows Farm's agricultural resources and the Harford Food Bank's connection to local families and food pantries. We look forward to ensuring our neighbors in need have access to high-quality local produce," the Millers said.
The Harford County Food Bank Farm also will host educational classes, workshops, community activities and special events.
