HAVRE DE GRACE, MD – Organizers of the 57th annual Havre de Grace Art Show have postponed this year’s event until 2021 due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The art show was originally scheduled to take place August 15-16 I n Tydings Park, but organizers from Soroptimist International decided that after taking the health and well-being of artists, food vendors, volunteers and visitors into consideration and with no signs of "immediate relief in sight", they had no other choice but to postpone the event until next year.

The annual art show is one of the oldest and largest event of its kind on the East Coast with all proceeds going to fund college scholarships, the Live Your Dream Award, and to community service. Applications for the 2021 event will be taken online at HdGArtShow.org beginning in January 2021.

Organizers are planning a virtual presence on social media to help recoup the loss of income for artists, entertainers, and food vendors and to recoup the group's own financial losses tied to postponing this year's show.

According to a news release, the effort will include raffles, poster sales, and donations to raise funds to keep demonstrate the event’s annual commitment to the students and the Havre de Grace community. Organizers indicated there will be several ways that local residents can help during the event by donating, purchasing raffles or a poster, and supporting exhibitors, entertainers, and food vendors by buying direct from them during our virtual event.
