The Art Rooms Changes Hands In HdG

New ownership is coming for the popular art store in downtown Havre de Grace.

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD -- The Art Rooms, known for its supplies as well as classes that encourage creativity, is changing hands. Owner Liz Howshall is retiring after more than a decade of owning the North Washington Street shop.

The store will be under new management as of June 1, according to the Havre de Grace Alliance.

Howshall announced at the end of February that she would be leaving, issuing this statement:

Dear friends and customers,
I am totally elated to let you know that after 12 years I am retiring The Art Rooms Professional Art Supplies!

I am looking forward to gaining freedom and doing my own thing! It’s been a heck of a ride, and I have enjoyed every minute of it! I am so very grateful to all of you for your support over the past years. I have been so lucky to have met so many wonderful and caring friends!

According to the Havre de Grace Alliance, the new owners will be Bill Price and Tom Kennedy.

The Art Rooms Professional Art Supplies is at 116 North Washington Street in Havre de Grace.
