Shoreline Cleanup

Saturday, August 18 at 9:00 am

The Maritime Museum and Environmental Center are working to restore the beautiful promenade shoreline! WE NEED YOUR HELP! Come help us begin our restoration project on August 18th at 9:00AM. We will be meeting at the Maritime Museum and walking over to the shoreline. The goal of the day is to remove all trash, dead vegetation, invasive species, and to stage driftwood for slope stabilization.

Alash Ensemble (Tuvan Throat Singing)

Alash are masters of Tuvan throat singing, a remarkable technique for singing multiple pitches at the same time. What distinguishes this gifted trio from earlier generations of Tuvan throat singers is the subtle infusion of modern influences their traditional music. One can find complex harmonies, western instruments, and contemporary song forms in Alashs music, but its overall sound and spirit is decidedly Tuvan. A Clockwork Orange (Midnight Movies at 7)

In August, were showing cult classic films at 7 pm on Wednesdays. Next up, were showing A Clockwork Orange. (Rated R)-In an England of the future, Alex (Malcolm McDowell) and his Droogs spend their nights embarking on a little of the old ultraviolence. After hes jailed, Alex submits to behavior modification to earn his freedom; hes conditioned to abhor violence. Returned to the world defenseless, Alex becomes the victim of his prior victims.
