Arts by the Bay Gallery Announces Lois Brien as their next featured artist

Arts by the Bay Gallery is proud to announce Lois Brien as their featured artist for their next show/reception Friday June 17th.
Lois Brien’s first encounter with oil painting was in 1981 with the artist Alice Slot, an artist from Holland. Alice gave Lois private lessons and also the confidence to pursue her talent.
As family changes took place, Lois did not paint again for 20 years. In 2002, with suggestions and encouragement from her husband, she again decided to take oil painting lessons at Bowie State College. This began her real passion for painting.
Lois moved to Myrtle Beach, SC., in 2007. A local gallery owner saw her work while she was taking classes and asked her to submit some of her paintings. She sold several pieces of her work in another gallery as well. Lois was on her way!
Lois continued studying with Pricilla Lafon who was affiliated with the University of South Carolina.
Lois moved back to Maryland in 2014, and is continuing her passion of painting and enjoying her wonderful home art studio. Arts by the Bay Gallery is proud to have Lois as their member.
