Arts by the Bay Gallery is proud to announce their next featured artist Doug Williams. Doug will be their featured artist for their new exhibit which starts August 26, 2016.Douglas Williams is an artist living in the quiet woods of northern Harford County. He was born abroad in Johannesburg, South Africa in 1970. Doug graduated from art school in the early 1990’s with a degree in Graphic Design. Subsequent to that he has worked in the specialized areas of design, illustration, photo manipulation, pre-press management, and currently in marketing production.In 2009, Doug started a serious journey of placing pen and ink on paper. He primarily uses a technique called pointillism, which is the tedious task of placing tiny ink dots closer or farther apart to represent texture and lighting. He supplements his pointillism with crosshatching, dashes or line-work. More recently Doug has been experimenting with acrylics and watercolors. He has also begun to work on different substrates like glass, wood and acetate, mixing media to create various artistic effects.Doug’s time is divided between his wonderful family, enjoying the vast and great outdoors, his demanding but rewarding workplace or working on commissions.Doug’s work is currently exclusively available at Arts By The Bay or by direct communication.
