HdG Ambulance Corps to Tap Keg, Spotlight Comedian at Fundraiser
The July 27 fundraiser for the Havre de Grace Ambulance Corps features Paul Venier.

The Havre de Grace Ambulance Corps is hosting a comedian at the end of July, and the alcohol will be flowing, after a ruling in Bel Air this week.
The Harford County Liquor Control Board approved a permit for the Ambulance Corps to sell beer and wine at its July 27 spaghetti dinner and comedy show.
"This event really depends on alcohol for a portion of it," Mark Hemler of the Havre de Grace Ambulance Corps told the liquor board Wednesday.
Comedian Paul Venier will headline the event at the Havre de Grace Community Center. He goes on at 8 p.m. and will perform for two hours.
An award-winning comic, Venier has opened for Jay Leno and performed with Larry David. He is known as the "Comedy Tornado" for his quick wit and rapid-fire pace, according to a press release from the Havre de Grace Ambulance Corps.
Doors for the fundraiser open at 5:30 p.m., Hemler said, and dinner will be served. Salad, spaghetti, bread and dessert are on the menu. Draft beer, wine and soda are also included in the ticket price. A keg will be available, with 12-ounce cups, Hemler said. The liquor board unanimously approved the request.
The cost is $25 per ticket, or $200 for a table of 10. The event will raise money for the Havre de Grace Ambulance Corps functions for members, like picnics, Hemler said.
Attendees must be at least 18 years old. Tickets are available at the Havre de Grace Ambulance Corps (1601 Level Rd.) and the Havre de Grace Visitors Center (450 Pennington Ave.). For more information, contact the Havre de Grace Ambulance Corps at 410-939-6658 or at www.hdgac.org.
