Back-to-School 2016: When Do Harford County Public Schools Start?

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — The 2016–2017 school year starts for most students enrolled in Harford County Public Schools this week.

Grades kindergarten through 12 will begin classes Thursday, Aug. 25.

Prekindergarten for Harford County Public Schools starts Monday, Aug. 29.

Before their pupils arrive, teachers head back to school as well. New teachers reported for duty on Thursday, Aug. 18, and Friday, Aug. 19. Veteran teachers return Monday, Aug. 22, to Wednesday, Aug. 24.

For those attending Harford Community College, the fall semester starts on Monday, Aug. 29.

Once school starts, the first holiday is around the corner — students and staff will be off on Labor Day, which is Monday, Sept. 5.
