Rising Sun scores seven unearned runs to erase Havre de Grace lead

Rising Sun capitalized on errors in a seven-run sixth to erase a Warriors lead and a solid outing from Havre de Grace junior Logan Poore in a 9-6 Tigers win Wednesday.

Havre de Grace, which fell to 2-4, led, 6-2 in the game when fielding miscues led to seven unearned runs in the decisive sixth inning.

Senior Erik Thompson went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two runs scored to lead the Havre de Grace offense.

Senior Nick Gartside (1-for-3, two RBIs), and juniors David Amici (1-for-3, two runs), James Smith (1-for-2, run, RBI), Brenton Barnes (1-for-4, RBI), Kyle Bowman (1-for-3), and Poore (1-for-4) added hits to the attack.

Poore went five innings, scattering five hits and three walks while allowing just one earned run. He struck out one on 92 pitches.

Catcher Andy Meiselwitz threw out two baserunners, and has caught 10-of-21 would-be base-stealers this season.

Havre de Grace hosts Bo Manor Friday at 3:30 p.m.
