Baseball: Warriors Rally to Beat Aberdeen

Grant McFarland scores three runs as Warriors overcome errors in comeback win

Senior Grant McFarland led the Warriors offense to a 9-7 comeback win at Aberdeen Wednesday night.

The Warriors (4-7 overall, 4-6 Susquehanna Division) are 2-0 against Aberdeen (2-8 overall, 2-8 Susquehanna Division) this year after sweeping both meetings last year.

McFarland—who has battled injury for much of the spring—was 3-for-5 with a double, a stolen base, and three runs scored. Havre de Grace had ten hits in the win, breaking a tie with two runs in the top of the seventh.

Junior Keith Sifford was 1-for-4 with a double and two runs scored.

Freshman Dominick Bolen was 1-for-2 with two runs batted in.

Erik Thompson (1-for-4, stolen base), Andy Meiselwitz (1-for-4), Brenton Barnes (1-for-4, one run), and Logan Poore (1-for-3, one run) each had an RBI in the win. Nick Gartside was 1-for-2 with a run and went 3-for-3 in stolen bases.

Freshman Kyle Greskoff allowed three hits and scattered five walks in a complete game win. He struck out three.

Havre de Grace committed five errors, and Aberdeen used a six-run second to get rolling before the Warriors settled in.

The Warriors visit Bohemia Manor Friday at 3:30 p.m.
