BIRD NOTES: IronBirds Look For Three Straight

The IronBirds, seeking a third straight win, send former first-round draft pick Matt Hobgood to the mound Wednesday night.

The Orioles took Hobgood as the fifth-overall selection in the 2009 draft but he has struggled as a pro. With Aberdeen this season, the California native is 0-5 with an 11.63 ERA in seven outings, including six starts.

Last-place Aberdeen (22-41) faces Connecticut (30-31) right-hander and New York-Penn League all-star Brennan Smith (2-3, 1.88 ERA).
